Grade 9 students were learning about perspective and how it works in real life. We visited the Lhama Temple in Beijing and then they each completed one section of the large picture using a variety of drawing and painting materials such as watercolor, wax crayon resist, oil pastels, colored pencils and chinagraph pencils. The artwork now hangs in the school foyer. It was also used as a background for a poster describing the school's Core Values, Strategic Plan and Mission Statement as an example of how the symbolism of several perspectives of one structure, recreated with different styles, come together to create a new and dynamic synergy.
